I’m gearing up for some awesome announcements about this summer’s Training Minds Camps. I’m preparing right now, and I can’t wait to post about the news. Getting ready for big events is exhausting work, but just as I’m getting quite tired of the details and labor, I get a note – totally out of the blue – from a camper in Florida…
I went to the NCFCA National Open in Alabama just a week ago, and I was awarded [a top placing] in LD out of 89. I know the only way I could’ve made it that far at a National open at the beginning of the year was through God and Training Minds! Your camp has helped me tremendously, and I am just so thankful I went. I have been telling everyone I know about it since! The friends I made at Training Minds have been an incredible encouragement to me and have stayed in touch even through the New Year! I look forward to seeing how God uses me to bless others through the things I have learned at Training Minds.
One thing I have not forgotten is your quote “Never turn down an opportunity to speak”. 🙂 I am graduating this year, and our graduation coalition has just requested a student to give a personal speech. If you had asked me two years ago, or even a year ago if I would even consider this, I would have said no because I was terrified of speaking in public. But this time, I decided not to let fear keep me from taking up that opportunity to speak, and I volunteered. I am so excited about this chance to speak into other’s lives! Thank you for your camp that taught me I am a champion who can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, and that communicating the truth is more important than any fear.
God bless you and your family.
Isn’t that great? This debater wanted to remain anonymous, but I bet her close friends can figure out who she is. It so touched my heart, I thought I’d share it with you.
