Join my family this summer for private training in Christian homeschool debate competition.
Most debate camps are holed up in church basements or college dorms. Not mine. This “camp” experience mixes academic rigor of debate training with campfires, s’mores, and wading in Monument Creek (which runs through the Jeub property). You’ll stay in “glamping” tents and debate in our living room. You’re going to have a blast!
Two camps are available in 2021, both identical in value, coaching, schedule and price: July 27-30 and August 1-4. Space is limited to 20 students and 4 parents per camp, so pick your dates and register today!
The Value of Jeub’s Camp
Everyone will leave debate camp…
…knowing what to do in competition — the structure of policy debate (and why it is the oldest, most dependable format of debate).
…knowing the secrets that champion debaters use to win rounds — the strategy of policy debate (and I’ve sent countless to Nationals to prove it!).
…prepped with printed material covering NCFCA and Stoa policy debate topics — along with plenty of notes to reference later.
…with the first four debate rounds of the year in their belts — with one personally coached by the coaches.
…with access to all slides and teaching handouts — along with answers and direction.
…with a stack of cases and briefs that can be ran in debate rounds for the year.
…with plenty of great memories, new friends, and campfire photos.
And everyone gets a T-shirt. Gotta have a T-shirt!
The Jeub Property
Lodging will be on the Jeub property on the Monument Ridge Glamping Sites. “Glamping” stands for “glamorous camping,” where students and parents will sleep inside large outfitters tents with amenities akin to cabins or cottages. Bring a sleeping bag and pillow (optional rental fee if you need us to provide you with them) and a cot will be assigned to you. Camp showers and toilets are onsite. Debates and camp sessions will take place in the Jeub house. Debate rounds will be both inside and on our large decks, weather permitting.
Our ranch is a 6.5 acre creekside property along the Rampart Range mountainside in Monument, Colorado. Hiking trails are right outside the tent, and wildlife frequent the property. Students will see mule deer, hawks and waterfowl throughout the week. It is beautiful.
Meals will be prepared and served by Mrs. Wendy Jeub, author of the Love in the Kitchen cookbook. You will not go hungry…and you’ll love the food!
Your Coaches and Staff
Chris Jeub (Head Coach)
Homeschool debate has been around since 1996, and Chris Jeub has been front-and-center since. He has been publishing source material for policy debaters since 1998 through Blue Book and his company Monument Publishing. His first debate camp was in 2005, and students from this camp still express their gratitude and fondly recall the memory. Mr. Jeub has led camps all over the country since. This is the first “private” camp at his home.
Tabitha Sleeger (Assistant Coach)
Tabitha (Jeub) Sleeger competed in all styles of debate and most speech categories. She received several titles in Oratory, Extemporaneous, Dramatic Interpretation and more. Tabitha graduated high school with her Associates degree and is now working to complete her Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice and Psychology at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. Her eyes are set on Law School in order to become a criminal defense attorney. She is newly married, enjoys judging at tournaments with her husband, and fits in time to compete on her college Mock Trial team.
Wendy Jeub (Camp Cook)
Wendy is a mother of 16 children…no kidding! Most are adults now (only seven at home at the moment) and she has homeschooled most of their school years. Naturally Wendy is a phenomenal cook, able to whip up the best meals on the planet. In fact, she is author of Love in the Kitchen, a bestselling cookbook with a ton of awesome recipes. You’ll certainly eat well at camp!
Other coaches and their bios will be added as the camp draws nearer.
Testimonials From Previous Camps
I’ve been running camps since 2005. A total of 2,781 speakers and debaters have attended my camps all over the country. This year will be a little different — hosted at my home in Monument, Colorado — but the experience will be the same. Here are a few testimonials…
This camp builds character, debate skills, relationships, and techniques you won’t be able to find anywhere else!
—Michael Wilson, Texas
Camp will make you more prepared, fluent, and confident, just like it did for me.
—Matthew Erickson, Colorado
1st Place NITOC Champion Lincoln-Douglas
Camp provides a great atmosphere for different leagues to be around each other, and for competitors to get to know one another in a more laid back atmosphere.
—Reesey Rea, Colorado
1st Place Stoa Champion Policy Debate
I couldn’t believe how helpful the coach’s were in answering questions and sharing their experiences. I really appreciated the one on one time in particular and found it to be invaluable.
—Zack Seals, California
National Title Winning Apologetics Speaker
Camp gave me the opportunity to begin a familiarity with what this year could look like according to the resolution. I am now able to “recognize” my case options and am excited to “observe” what ideas people will come up with for cases.
—Austin Pistor, Texas
Top nationally ranked competitor
The coaches were always there to help and coach one-on-one outside of lectures and their teaching was much enjoyed by all of the students involved. I highly recommend this great camp!
—Ryan Kelly Murphy, California
Ranked 1st Place Champion in 2015, Stoa’s highest ranking competitor
